Built on the belief that plants deserve better than 'good enough'.
See Design Apply was founded by engineers who spent years watching commissioned plants underperform — not because the technology wasn't there, but because no one was applying it properly. We exist to close that gap.
From the plant floor to independent practice
See Design Apply was born from a simple observation: most plants are commissioned to a functional standard, then handed over to operations teams who are expected to make them work at full capacity. The gap between 'running' and 'running right' is where we operate.
Our founders have spent careers in food and beverage processing — commissioning plants, troubleshooting underperformance, and optimising production systems across Australia. We've seen the same problems repeat across different sites, different companies, and different technologies.
The common thread is always the same: the right engineering expertise wasn't applied at the right time. Automation issues were left to process engineers. Mechanical problems were blamed on control systems. Process inefficiencies were masked by over-engineering the automation layer.
SDA was established to provide the impartial, multi-discipline expertise that plants actually need — without the vendor relationships, platform biases, or single-discipline thinking that limits most consultants.
Principles that guide every engagement
Impartiality
We have no vendor relationships, no preferred platforms, and no financial incentive to recommend one solution over another. Our only obligation is to your plant's performance.
Evidence-based
Every recommendation we make is backed by data — plant data, process data, equipment data. We don't guess and we don't assume.
Multi-discipline
Real plant problems rarely fit neatly into one engineering discipline. We bring automation, process, and mechanical expertise to every engagement and apply whichever is needed.
Accountability
We define measurable outcomes before we start and verify them when we finish. If the numbers don't move, we haven't done our job.
